FAQs

  • We’re here to slake your mid-week thirst or sort you out on a late night sesh. Monday to Wednesday we're open from 3pm. Thursday to Saturday we go from 12pm through to 3am. Sundays from 12pm until late.

  • Book through the website — quickest way to lock in a spot. For special requests or if you need to shuffle a booking around, give the team a buzz on (03) 9977 5994.

  • We’re a St Kilda local, not a ballroom. Casual and comfortable is the vibe. So long as you’re wearing shoes and a shirt, you’re good to go.

  • Future craft beer enthusiasts are welcome to join the crew for a meal before 9 PM. Just a heads-up: we’re an old-school haunt, so we don't have highchairs or baby change facilities. As long as you’re happy to keep the little ones within arm’s reach, they’re more than welcome to pull up a seat.

  • We know we used to be dog-friendly, but sadly those days are gone. These days your four-legged mates are more than welcome in outside on Fitzroy Street. We just ask that they stay on a lead.

  • Absolutely. Head to our website to snag a voucher online—it’s the quickest way to win at gifting. If you’re already at the pub, just ask the crew at the bar and we’ll get you sorted with a physical one right then and there.

  • It happens to the best of us. If you’ve misplaced something, give us a call 9977 5994 or pop in during opening hours.

  • You betcha — no one goes hungry on our watch. Our menu include vegetarian and gluten-free options (good ones, not tokenistic ones). Scan the menu or ask the bar staff if you need something in particular.

  • Pfffft, do we have Happy Hour. It’s the best time of the day. Our Happy Hour runs every weekday from 3pm–6pm. We’re talking:

    • $9 Pints (because you earned it)

    • $9 Wines

    • $14 Espresso Martinis (to kickstart the night)

    • Monday – Hospo Mondays, only for our hospitality brethren, or those willing to lie about their career. $14 boilermakers. $6 Coors tinnies. $8 Jameson and Fireball shots + heaps more.

    • Wednesday – Burger & Bev Wednesdays. Score a schooey (or a vino) and a burger for just $20.

    • Tuesday trivia $11 CBCo pints

  • We’ve got 14 rotating taps that change faster than the St Kilda weather. From hop-heavy IPAs to dark, velvety stouts, there’s always something new to try. Check the ‘Gram, chalkboard or ask the crew what’s fresh today.

  • Yes. We’ve got a takeaway license until midnight. If you’re head over heels with a particular tin or need a bottle to kick on we can sort you out.

  • It’s a Tuesday night tradition. Kick-off is at 7:30pm every Tuesday. We’ve got $150 in bar tabs up for grabs, bragging rights, and plenty of $11 pints to keep the brain gears turning. Bookings are highly recommended for this one.

  • We’ve got live tunes rolling through four nights a week (Thursday–Sunday). Whether it’s a solo acoustic session or a full band taking over the corner, you can find the exact dates and times on our Gig Guide.

  • For your average night, just wander in and grab a stool. But if it’s a massive one—think AFL, live tunes, and speciality events —we highly recommend Booking ahead. These nights get loud and busy and we’d hate for you to be standing on the sidewalk.

  • You bet. We screen the big matches and the major fights live. If you want to be 100% sure your team is on the screen. Confirm the schedule via our website or socials.

  • Every night is a bit different. Some sessions start early for the afternoon crowd; others don’t kick off until the sun’s well and truly down. Check the Live Music on our site for the specific set times.

  • Think you’ve got what it takes to join the Freddie’s fam? We’re always on the lookout for legends who know their craft beer from their elbow and can handle a busy Saturday night with a grin.

If you’re a hospitality pro looking for a home behind the bar or in the kitchen, send your CV over to hr@ganleygroup.com.au. Just make sure you put "Freddie Wimpoles" and the kinda gig you’re after in the subject line, so we know you’re one of us.

  • We’re open most public holidays and Easter, but closed Christmas Day so the crew can do their thing. Check Google or our socials if you’re still wondering.
